Wedding Duties: Venue Snapshots

Our payment for our reception venue, Oasis Manila, was due last week, and we forgot… Actually, we didn’t as we had budget reminders through the website Wedding Mapper, we just didn’t have the time to go to the bank… ok, fine, we do… tamad lang talaga! =p

I sent a courtesy email to our AE Jamie, advising her that I’ll deposit it by Monday. Unfortunately, they don’t allow bank deposits anymore. They had money issues in the past, so I understand why they are stricter now with the payments. The only option we have is to go there and drop the check. We made a field trip out of it, and since it was raining cats and dogs when we got there anyways, we decided to stay and take pictures.

So here it is… presenting our venue, Verandah, as a plain canvass... na ang lawak pala at hindi namin alam pano naming pupunuin! Ang laki pala nya! Haha!

Getting back on track (I hope!)

I think the last supplier we booked was our HMUA which we closed January, and then we decided that since we've booked the major partners we can just relax. So there we were, on a wedding planning hiatus for a good 3 months. And now that it's just 7 months to go we are on a bit of a panic streak again. We don't have any rings, no arrangements for music or invites, heck! we don't even have a theme or have our wedding colors planned out yet.

So last Saturday, we decided to go on a little field trip to visit our church and reception venue. Just to make sure they are still there, and our AE's still know us.

The Quest for the Perfect Church and Venue Begins!

This Saturday has been reserved for errands, and what could be more urgent for us but the quest for the church and reception venue. We've been putting this off for so long thinking that it's still next year and we have more than a year to prep, but we thought wrong. I started inquiring this Friday for our top church picks, as it turns out, we've chosen not a just very popular date but also a day that a church will of course prioritize a Eucharistic mass. A couple of church secretaries even advised me that they will not be accepting any reservations for a wedding that day! After 7 failed reservation attempts, my relaxed persona has officially been transformed into a bridezilla!

And so there we were, one rainy, traffic-filled Saturday afternoon driving non-stop around the metro
