Wedding Duties: Bargain Hunt

My lovely Maid of Honor went with me to Divisoria to scout for good deals. The plan is to find items at wholesale prices so that it will be cheaper compared to the mall. LJ wasn't going with us so we had no plans to buy anything. I can tell you right now that this plan failed! hehe!

Getting to Divisoria was easy... well easier  compared to how I've done it in the past. For this trip I took the MRT to Cubao, then transferred to LRT to get to Recto. Gina was already waiting for me, yah, parang airport lang ang drama. May salubungang chikahan pa kami. I'm pretty sure people were already staring. LOL!

It was our first time to try this route, so we just walked with the crowd. Outside, there's a jeep to Divisoria. Perfect!

We got off at the corner leading to 168. Our goal was to get to Tabora, so we walked past 168 (trying our best to ignore the accessories and the clothes!), then walked towards the direction of the Divisoria Mall. If you feel like you are getting lost, just ask for directions from the guards, you will know you are at the right area when you see wedding souvenirs and trinkets.

It was a quick trip, since we were just planning to look around, and we were done in less than an hour. We weren't very serious the whole time, making it a lot of fun. We looked so 'donya' as we were walking around with our big pamaypaymainit e! care! haha!

These are some prices we were able to list down, you might be able to bargain for a lower price depending on the quantity.

native fans (small) 10 pesos
native fans (big) 15 pesos
folding fan (small) 18 pesos
kissing bells with handle 25 pesos
jars (small) 25 to 40 pesos
jars (big) 70 pesos

We took note of those that we think were interesting, and decided that we would need to back to 168. On the way back, we passed by a guy selling the exact item we were looking for. He gave a better price than the others, that we even considered buying it right away. We didn't close the deal though, for obvious reasons that we wouldn't be able to carry it on our own. We'll just come back for it, sana andun pa sya.

We also looked at gowns, hehe! wala magawa. Price range of those that we liked were from 25k to 70k. oh, yes! inikot namin bridal area ng 168 at nagtanong talaga kami. pampa-relax! =)

So if we didn't get any wedding trinkets, what did we buy? kung anik anik!

A Hello Kitty Trash Can, 70pesos...
I'll be using it for the flip-flops

A brush worth 15pesos,
surprisingly comfortable to use! The bristles doesn't scrape my scalp.
I just can't heat style with it because of the rubber

Necklace, about 100pesos each.
I got the ones that didn't feel too light or thin.
Just be very picky and examine them well when you are buying, para hindi sayang

A bubble gun, 35pesos
Pasalubong for LJ
I enjoyed playing with this!
Even the story behind the assembly of this toy, sobrang comedy.

Hello Kitty Blanket (thick), 300 pesos
super soft!

Gina got more stuff than me. Aside from our matching trash cans and blankets, she also got some hair curlers, earrings, a chamois (for the dog, sosyal ha!), and a wholesale pack of Sanrio pony tail holders! LOL!

We are just reviewing the budget and the guest list, and then we'll head back. We need to do this soon since Christmas season is coming and by then, Divisoria will be packed with holiday shoppers. We can't wait to go back!
