Byaheng Norte: Subic
We had to go to LJ’s hometown, and since it’s also his birthday month, we just made a trip out of it. I wasn’t too confident to drive as I still lack sleep, so LJ decided to take the bus, he’s from there anyway, so how hard can it be, right? Goal was to get to the Grand Hoyah inside Subic Freeport to stay for the evening, and leave for Matain the following day to be able to get to the St Anthony de Padua Parish.
I wouldn’t say it was hard, but it was a long and restless trip, we were able to catch the Victory Liner Bus bound for Olongapo/Iba and it left the Cubao terminal close to 3:30pm. We arrived in Olongapo past 6:30pm, but if you’ll be taking a car, you will definitely get there faster if you eliminate the stop-over and take the SCTEX. The Victory bus took the NLEX Angeles Exit and stayed on the national road for the rest of the drive. We also had a 15-minute stop over in Lubao, Pampanga’s Double Happiness. Victory’s bus also provided free wi-fi, which helped fight the boredom.

The Week of Chaos
Today marks the 5 month countdown to our wedding day, and this past week, the whole thing definitely bordered on crazy! We've tried our best to be cool, calm and collected, but I guess someone thought we should have some moments of insanity thrown into the mix.
In our next posts we will share more about our week, the issues and chaos, the little celebrations and wonderful surprises, but for this particular post, we would like to honor our dearest friends who have helped keep our sanity in check.
We've tried our best to keep the stress under wraps, manage it as much as we could. For the most part, I think we've succeeded, but there are just days or this past week in particular that can just push you over the edge. We were lucky to be surrounded by people that we trust, that are always there for us, and most of all understands and supports us.
To Gina, Rozen, Alou/Jake, Marc, Ishy and Jen
We thank you for listening, for picking up the phone to hear our shallow sob stories. We thank you for empathizing, for replying to our messages, for making us feel that we are still normal, and sila ang baliw, LOL! We thank you for the heartfelt advice, for telling us the truth and not just telling us what we wanted to hear. Most of all we thank you for the laughter, that simplest gift of distraction that kept us from going insane.
I won't say that all of the issues were already resolved, but after this difficult week, both LJ and I agreed, that somehow a supreme being is still taking care of us, and somehow, he sent you guys to make sure we stay strong.
152 more days of this, and then we can all relax, aja!

Fruity Tutti, Yum!
Flower boquets will always be a
classic, but if you are feeling rebelliously healthy then why not try fruit
arrangements! No, we are not
just talking about the regular fruit baskets, we are referring to sliced
fruits arranged to perfection by FruiQuet (froo-kei).
“FruiQuet™,
short for “fruit bouquet,” is a concept borne out of a passion to
offer Filipinos here, and even those abroad, a unique alternative to
the usual gifts sent to loved ones or given to close family members
and friends.” - FruiQuet.com
We
noticed their store while walking around the Eastwood Mall, and our
friends joked that since we'll have an alternative wedding
cake, might as well consider this as an alternative bouquet for my
entourage. I gave the pictures a closer look and they actually looked
interesting so I went inside to learn more.

Busy Bee Weekend
As the big day draws near, the ‘Things to Do’ are starting to pile up. Our goal is to make sure we are no longer swamped at least one week before the wedding. We are definitely not yet as productive as we hoped we could be, but we are getting there.
So far we are balancing chillax moments/wedding duties/career.
Juggle! Juggle! Whew!

Cheap thrills
It doesn’t take a lot for us to be excited about the weekend. Some burgers and a movie and we are all set!
It didn’t hurt that Brother’s Burger celebrated their 13th year and offered a 50% discount on their trademark burger! It’s a ½ lb flame grilled patty with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and catsup in a toasted oatmeal bun all for the mouth watering price of 105 pesos!
With the big discount we got, there’s more budget that can be used for specialized drinks, yey! So we headed over to the far side of High Street and tried some of the very popular Jamba Juice!

Merienda night
I had to be in Makati last week, and as
always, my cousin and I grabbed the opportunity to catch up para
dumaldal to the max. She will be our prettiest MOH (maid of honor),
and we decided that this meeting will be dedicated to wedding planning,
specifically, for the entourage gowns. Seryoso na!
Well we didn't really got to the
planning part, nor talk much about the wedding, not even to discuss
her own gown! haha! I guess that's just really how we both roll,
bahala na couz!
Even our food for that evening was
bahala na, I initially wanted to go to Mom and Tina's, and she also
suggested Bistro Ravioli, then we started walking to Greenbelt to check out more options. I then blurted out that I want comfort food as I'm not having the best
day, so we landed at Razon's with the purpose of getting some some
halo-halo. It ended up that they also have some arroz caldo, perfect!

Halo-Halo - Php 90
Razon's bestseller!
This proves that the simplest combo works
macapuno + saba + shaved ice.

..it's 2am
Just wrapped up Wedding Sunday, I'll blog more about it in detail soon, but just to keep this post short, let's just say I found myself in panic, LOL! I just sent multiple emails, and browsing non-stop since we got home. As if a lot can be done during midnight, on a weekend pa!.

Just around the neighborhood
We
didn't have any fancy plans last weekend, well except for one,
kaso tinamad din kami, so, we declared it …The "Dyan Dyan Lang" Weekend!
These are the perks of living near a satisfactory but fairly
unpopular mall – Robinson's Pioneer. There's
a supermarket, a sports outlet shop, small department store and a
bookstore. I think, that covers most of the things I need or want to
see in a mall, minus the effort.
Best part of this mall are the movie
theaters, well yeah, it does have its flaws, minsan tumatalon or
whatnot, but if you'll be watching something na for sure mahaba pila
in other malls, you can bet that there's no one here!
Case in point... Avengers? First day of showing?
MOA
– by reservation (which they opened, weeks before pa)
Glorietta
– sold out, well available 11pm slot, game ka?
Megamall
– box office!
e
sa Rob Pioneer -- Effortless! =D
The
condo is a also stone's throw away from our fast food favorites just in
case you get a midnight craving for the sweet spaghetti of Jollibee or would want a
7-11 shopping spree. Regular restaurants are just around the
corner or a short jeep ride away. Love it!
So
here's the lazy weekend that was, and just because tamad talaga kami, we even took the tryc to get to that 5 minute walk mall...

Dancin' to 'Marry You'
I never really thought much of Bruno Mars' "Marry You," except when they used it for Glee as the entourage song during a wedding episode. At the time, I thought it was a good choice for the scene, but didn't ever think that it will be an LSS or something that I would want to hear over and over again.
However, seeing these proposal videos recently made me appreciate the song more. Aside from the cute concept that the grooms-to-be thought of, I've also been thinking that they've got such great friends to help them turn their idea into reality.
so here are they are, I love both videos, but I'm more fascinated by the first one.
Enjoy! ",)

You've Got Mail!
Except probably for paper bills, and
some items I order on-line, I don't really get postal mails. A couple
of years back, LJ sent me a “pigeon hole” warming card for the
condo and that was it.
When one of my besties said she'll send
something to me, I didn't think much of it. I figured she'll probably
ask someone to meet up with me here, or it won't happen at all.
Well surprise! Surprise! It
actually went through the postal service. Awww!!
It was a care package for our wedding.
I know she really wanted to help me out, since she knows that I can be extremely praning one minute, and totally wala ng pakialam later. In
short, walang matatapos!
She covered all the bases with this, as in!

Weekend Bonding with the ‘M’s
Went to the mall to find the Transformers Decal for LJ’s laptop
We took the bus and got off near Glorietta. Sinamantala na ang pagdaan sa Rustan's to get some Snicker's ice cream bar, yum!
Finally found the decal in True Value of all places! “,)

Aiming High, Dreaming Big
After months of delaying our property hunting, we finally took James’ invite as a sign that we should get started. For this ‘tripping’ we were scheduled to visit the Pramana in Sta Rosa

We were invited to the open house, that will also allow us to watch the Pacquiao vs Bradley fight via satellite, yey! Although Pacquiao didn’t win, it was still a different experience watching the game from home compared to watching it with a group of strangers. They were actually cheering and clapping… FUN!
