I think the last supplier we booked was our HMUA which we closed January, and then we decided that since we've booked the major partners we can just relax. So there we were, on a wedding planning hiatus for a good 3 months. And now that it's just 7 months to go we are on a bit of a panic streak again. We don't have any rings, no arrangements for music or invites, heck! we don't even have a theme or have our wedding colors planned out yet.
So last Saturday, we decided to go on a little field trip to visit our church and reception venue. Just to make sure they are still there, and our AE's still know us.
First stop was Oasis Manila, our reception venue. We booked the Verandah last November, a new hotel ballroom-like space. This was just being constructed when we inquired October of last year with a target completion date of 1st quarter of 2012. We took a leap and decided to get it even though at the time it's just a construction site and we are just basically reserving "air." Our AE (Jamie) was very accommodating and also provided some photos of what they are targeting the place to look like. We've chosen this venue among the three options that Oasis provided because it's 'new' so hopefully the air-conditioning won't fail us and the drapes will still be presentable when it's our turn to use it in December.
Good thing Jamie was there when we dropped by and was able to give us a tour. There was an on-going event and we didn't want to be rude so I didn't take pictures. However, it looks exactly as how they've envisioned it. It's a very large space, and because it's on the second floor with floor to ceiling glass windows the sunlight just pours in giving it a happy feel. I also liked the fact that the trees surrounding the building are tall enough, so even if it's all glass, you can't really see the neighbor's rooftops. It still feels like you are in a private garden. Overall, we were very satisfied with what we saw -- the garden, the new landscape to the building, the Verandah, and of course with our AE Jamie. I can't wait to plan the styling with our caterer.
Our next stop was Mary the Queen Parish in Greenhills. We took some pictures of the vista and also some photos of the interior. There was a wedding so we were able to see the flower arrangements, we won't be getting any special arrangement for the church styling anymore, and we are settling with whatever MTQ will be providing. The arrangement was fair and simple. I think we'll be fine.
We dropped by the office to look for Noemi, but she's not available so we talked with Ms Annie instead. She was also very nice and chatty, handed me the updated list of requirements as well as policies wherein we were reminded once again of the 300 pesos per excess minute (OMG!). She also told us in passing to avoid backless gowns, I laughed and told her 'hindi ko rin po keri' so she didn't have to worry. She confirmed that the dove release and love songs for the bridal march are still allowed (yey!) so we were very happy about that!
We ended the visit with taho cups in hand. Happiness!
