CieLJ Cravings: The Original Hawaiian Bar-B-Que Tagaytay

I can't get a good review about the food at Punta Fuego, so to make sure that I will at least have one good meal on my birthday I've scouted for some restaurant options in Tagaytay with a few requirements

> I wanted it to be on the way so that it will be easy for us to spot,
> A bit commercial, so that we don't need to reserve in advance and have the option to be flexible with the time, and
> have great, consistent reviews to save us from disappointment

The original Hawaiian Barbecue immediately became part of the list because of it's location which is just along the highway. The rave reviews in various blog sites just made me even more curious and I took note of the best sellers.

Here's a preview of what we were able to order :)

watermelon fruit shake and specialty drink

Kahlua's Roasted Pork Belly, Php 395

Hawaiian Baby Back Ribs, M, Php 520
Spam Fried Rice, Php 220

What I liked...
- the ribs are very tasty and tender. They are indeed falling off the bone and was such a joy to eat.
- the medium serving was huge! It's generous enough for three. We had leftovers and it was still enough for the two of us for dinner.
- the pork belly had so much flavor, it's something you will describe as lip smackin' good. I usually avoid the fat, but for this case, LJ watched me demurely slice those fat strips, LOL
- the waiter was very attentive, always on the look out if we need a refill of water, clear the table, etc
- they do have wi-fi to keep you guys occupied while waiting for the food.

Neutral
- The mixed rice we've ordered was ok, we can try another rice option next time and we won't mind.
- Although it is located by the ridge, it's not perfectly picturisque to have that Taal backdrop photo that you may be aiming for. It was too cluttered for me.

Con
- We thought we were lost when we entered the hotel. It was our first time and I don't know if the restaurant have a separate entrance, etc. We didn't know where to go, no one was available to greet or to usher. We had to 'stand around,' for a bit.

Overall, it's a good restaurant, and the quality of the food you are getting is totally worth the money you will be paying for. It's a good place for celebrating special occasions or a nice dinner date.

Below are the snapshots of the menu, to give you a headstart to figure out what you would want to order. Let us know how the experience was. Happy eating! :)
