Wedding Duties: Bridal Fairs

I will admit, bridal fairs are awwwwesome! It's like they asked all the prettiest things to come together and give my eyes some love! However, bridal fairs will also mean, tired feet, empty wallets, or the absolute worst thing... finding a better deal than what you've already booked! Haha! Good thing the last one has yet to happen to us.

Even though bridal fairs can be overwhelming, I strongly suggest you visit at least one. Aside from the fact that you can meet a lot of suppliers in one place rather than meeting them individually in different offices or restaurants, it will also help you in getting new ideas and concepts. If ever you decide to book on the spot, you can even be given additional discounts and qualify for exclusive raffle draws.

We've been on a bridal fair hiatus for a good 5 months because... a) our major suppliers are already booked, b) we didn't want to confuse ourselves, and c) we are basically lazy people.

For this one, we reserved tickets just to play it safe, with no real intentions of dropping by. Bridal fairs have entrance fees, just like Christmas bazaars. It ranges from 30 pesos to 100 pesos per person depending on the organizer and the venue. We always get to go inside for free by registering on-line at least 2 days before the event. So that's a smart saver tip for you, hehe!

we got a free magazine, yey!

We decided to drop by this one to check out some invites and rings after convincing ourselves that we need to get this two things moving. The first one because it takes a while to design and proof read, while the latter we need to narrow down our choices so we can finalize the budget.

Too bad they didn't allow any picture-taking inside the venue proper.

Of course, I still wandered around, we still roamed all the aisles, even though we had no intention of getting gowns (soooo pretty!), and looking at flowers (soooo many!). We saw one of Don Robert's bridal cars on display, it was a vintage Cadillac, which costs 10k to rent for three hours. Ugh! Why do pretty things need to be sooo expensive?! The guy was kind enough to allow me to “try” it out and experience the “space.” haha!

We walked out of the fair with no new supplier, but that's ok. We found some nice pegs for our rings, and we are trying to contact some suppliers who can help us bring it to reality.

The invite peg is still in the works. It's still a discussion if it's going to be something uber simple or quirky. Who knows, it might just be a combination of both.

Things are starting to fall into place, and fresh ideas are coming in. We might just be able to pull this off. Good luck to us!
