Wedding Duties: String of Good Luck

We finally decided to get a music supplier, and with just a few months to go, I was prepared to receive email replies saying that they were already booked. We were lucky to get a response from most of them telling us that they are still available, well almost. All of them were available except for one -- Manila String Machine -- the one that we really wanted.

Wedding Duties: Music is Love

Hiring a supplier to provide music for our wedding was definitely something we wanted. I've been inquiring since January, reviewing price ranges, inclusions and any information that I could find. However, due to budget constraints, we were looking at the possibility that we might not be able to get one. LJ, even later on admitted that he was already creating a playlist of songs that we can just 'play.' Our venue already included the sound system, and there are cheaper alternatives for the church, like getting a local choir instead. I guess, at the back of our minds, though we discuss and try to convince ourselves that it doesn't matter, we never really crossed it out of the list, and hoped that by working on our budget more, we can hire someone to add art to the celebration. I just can't shake the feeling na 'iba pa rin.'

Wedding Duties: Skin Care

Wedding planning causes stress (ows? Di nga?!). For most of us, this means less sleep and more breakouts. I’m particularly conscious about it, because I frequently get skin bumps.

I have very sensitive skin, well, that’s an understatement. I tend to break out a lot when I was younger. If I can thank my mom for anything else aside from paying for my education, it will be the weekly visit to the dermatologist. The doctor never got to ‘cure’ the problem, but at the very least, it was controlled. Instead of having 10 new zits daily, I just have 9? LOL! I went there so often, and spent hours inside the clinic just waiting for my face to get a good pricking. Ouchy Saturdays, always! That’s been my life for years, even after college *sniff.* The episodes never really went away; I still get the bumps, but because I’ve gone through worse days, I’m just thankful that they are not as obvious or as many.

Despite my laziness, skin care is something I just can’t skip; after all, ito ang susi to lesser breakouts. The usual routine will be to cleanse, tone and moisturize, but I’ve never really liked the toners in the past. The derma provided a toner before, and it stings. It causes my face to have red patches and makes it raw which just adds more to the problem. I’ve survived the last decade without using any toner, so far so good -- well that was what I thought.

Long Weekend Kikay Stops

Since we are saving up, and we also missed the fact that it’s a super long weekend, we didn’t have anything special planned. We just went to the mall like it's any other weekend, except this time I was on a mission to get some beauty loot to update my stash.

First stop, dropped by the Etude House. I figured you can't go wrong with a store over-flowing with pink.

The 5 Love Languages

During our pre-cana seminar at Mary the Queen, the 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman was mentioned in two of the scheduled talks. Rozen gave us the book a couple of months back, though we have yet to read it, but the quick talk and the questionnaire actually helped.

Color Me Pretty!

Echo: Ano color theme nyo?
CieLj: huh?
Echo: hala! dapat meron na!
CieLj: White? White!

I didn't have any decent answer, so in theory, I blended all the colors. hehe!

Thanks to a website -- The Perfect Palette, it gave us a better visual of the different color combinations that can be used for weddings

Have a Happy Hapa Dog Day!

I love being from the South, just the right balance of probinsya and city-ness. The trendiest things in Manila are accessible via the malls in Alabang or the outlet stores in Sta Rosa, sans the big crowd. We had lunch recently at Alabang Town Center and I was so happy to see some popular restaurants have already started to set up shop in the new wing.

For this trip, we tried Hapa Dog. I’ve read about this in clickthecity but gave up on the idea that I will be able to eat there since it’s in some location that I know I can never visit at a whim.
