Wedding Duties: Music is Love

Hiring a supplier to provide music for our wedding was definitely something we wanted. I've been inquiring since January, reviewing price ranges, inclusions and any information that I could find. However, due to budget constraints, we were looking at the possibility that we might not be able to get one. LJ, even later on admitted that he was already creating a playlist of songs that we can just 'play.' Our venue already included the sound system, and there are cheaper alternatives for the church, like getting a local choir instead. I guess, at the back of our minds, though we discuss and try to convince ourselves that it doesn't matter, we never really crossed it out of the list, and hoped that by working on our budget more, we can hire someone to add art to the celebration. I just can't shake the feeling na 'iba pa rin.'

We revisited the money pool, and because of some help from friends in the other areas it seemed more plausible to hire a music supplier, yey for us!

We narrowed our list to choir groups and string quartets.  Since we will be having a morning ceremony, I figured it would be awkward to have a wedding band. As a compromise to our generation, we will be prioritizing String quartets that can not only play classical music but can also expertly play songs from the last 20 years.

Just in case you also need suppliers, here were our top choices:

animachoirandstrings@gmail.com

manilastringmachine@yahoo.com.ph

ianbanawa@yahoo.com

edanit85@yahoo.com

stradaudio@yahoo.com

serenatastrings@gmail.com

odjiebautista@yahoo.com

I was able to get a list from some wedding magazines, then watched videos on Youtube or their Facebook page. Since I'm musically challenged, I burned-out google, with all the search combinations I can think of just to find the supplier reviews from the previous couples that they've worked with.

Here are some samples

Manila String Machine - Sweet Child of Mine

Stradavarius String - Isn't She Lovely

Despite the hardwork, and long hours of playback, it's all worth it in the end. Everything fell into place and we were able to book the Manila String Machine! Yahoooo!

We'll tell you more about the road to that decision in the next post. As any of our decisions made related to this wedding, it's just something that was meant to be. ",)
