CieLJ Weekend: Taal Vista

Taal Vista located along the Tagaytay ridge, is such an iconic hotel. It’s definitely one of the most popular places to stay in Tagaytay. I’ve always wanted to try to book a room here but since its rates are at a premium, it’s not something that you can pick at a whim.

We had a couple of good reasons to stay overnight in Tagaytay last February, and I was thinking this is perfect timing to book a room in Taal Vista.

Service - can definitely be improved. Front desk staff was not as warm and welcoming as I had hoped. The queue was also not organized compared to other similar star hotels. We also had issues with the parking validation, I guess it goes hand in hand with the service at the reception's desk

Room - as I mentioned, the rate is at a premium and with that came some expectations. We opted for the Lakes wing since it’s the newer building, of course, the expectation became even higher. Apparently, if you don’t book the lake view, then you don’t get any decent view at all with the deluxe room. For the first room that we got, we had a wonderful view of a concrete roof. We asked to be transferred as the room came with twin beds, after a couple of back and forth calls we were moved to a room facing Sky Ranch.

Breakfast – they served bacon. Mountains of it. My husband said that despite all the drama and disappointment that we’ve gone though, parking validation of ticket, check-in, service, finding our room, TV controls, to name a few. He’s willing to forgive it all after seeing the bacon. Bacon heals all wounds. LOL!

It’s nice that we’ve finally got the chance to stay in Taal Vista, but we will probably be staying  at boutique hotels next time.

Have you had the chance to be a quest of Taal Vista Hotel in Tagaytay? How was your stay?
