Busy Bee Weekend

As the big day draws near, the ‘Things to Do’ are starting to pile up. Our goal is to make sure we are no longer swamped at least one week before the wedding. We are definitely not yet as productive as we hoped we could be, but we are getting there.

So far we are balancing chillax moments/wedding duties/career.
Juggle! Juggle! Whew!
One
50% off Brother’s Burger
Deal!

Two
Gave Jamba Juice a try
Not bad. We will try the Slice Restaurant next time, or maybe Cue.

Three
Under the starry starry night
It was fun watching the kids running around and playing.
We know there aren’t a lot of those types of space anymore,
especially in the metro.

Wedding Duties: Venue Snapshots

Our payment for our reception venue, Oasis Manila, was due last week, and we forgot… Actually, we didn’t as we had budget reminders through the website Wedding Mapper, we just didn’t have the time to go to the bank… ok, fine, we do… tamad lang talaga! =p

I sent a courtesy email to our AE Jamie, advising her that I’ll deposit it by Monday. Unfortunately, they don’t allow bank deposits anymore. They had money issues in the past, so I understand why they are stricter now with the payments. The only option we have is to go there and drop the check. We made a field trip out of it, and since it was raining cats and dogs when we got there anyways, we decided to stay and take pictures.

So here it is… presenting our venue, Verandah, as a plain canvass... na ang lawak pala at hindi namin alam pano naming pupunuin! Ang laki pala nya! Haha!

Cheap thrills

It doesn’t take a lot for us to be excited about the weekend. Some burgers and a movie and we are all set!

It didn’t hurt that Brother’s Burger celebrated their 13th year and offered a 50% discount on their trademark burger! It’s a ½ lb flame grilled patty with lettuce, tomato, mayonnaise and catsup in a toasted oatmeal bun all for the mouth watering price of 105 pesos!

crowd starting to build up

patiently waiting for their burgers

With the big discount we got, there’s more budget that can be used for specialized drinks, yey! So we headed over to the far side of High Street and tried some of the very popular Jamba Juice!

Wedding Duties: Bridal Fairs

I will admit, bridal fairs are awwwwesome! It's like they asked all the prettiest things to come together and give my eyes some love! However, bridal fairs will also mean, tired feet, empty wallets, or the absolute worst thing... finding a better deal than what you've already booked! Haha! Good thing the last one has yet to happen to us.

walking towards the WTC

Even though bridal fairs can be overwhelming, I strongly suggest you visit at least one. Aside from the fact that you can meet a lot of suppliers in one place rather than meeting them individually in different offices or restaurants, it will also help you in getting new ideas and concepts. If ever you decide to book on the spot, you can even be given additional discounts and qualify for exclusive raffle draws.

Wedding Duties: Food Tasting

We’ve been consistently invited to attend the Hizon’s food tasting event since the 2nd quarter of 2012 but never had the chance to go. It was either because it’s going to be in some far off place or we simply can’t fit it in the schedule.

Last Sunday was the best chance for us since they will be hosting it in Pergola, an events venue just in front of the World Trade Center, which was hosting a bridal fair we planned to attend. I confirmed with Crenz, our sales exec, that we will be able to attend this time and expect us in the afternoon.

Merienda night

I had to be in Makati last week, and as always, my cousin and I grabbed the opportunity to catch up para dumaldal to the max. She will be our prettiest MOH (maid of honor), and we decided that this meeting will be dedicated to wedding planning, specifically, for the entourage gowns. Seryoso na!

Well we didn't really got to the planning part, nor talk much about the wedding, not even to discuss her own gown! haha! I guess that's just really how we both roll, bahala na couz!

Even our food for that evening was bahala na, I initially wanted to go to Mom and Tina's, and she also suggested Bistro Ravioli, then we started walking to Greenbelt to check out more options. I then blurted out that I want comfort food as I'm not having the best day, so we landed at Razon's with the purpose of getting some some halo-halo. It ended up that they also have some arroz caldo, perfect!

Halo-Halo - Php 90
Razon's bestseller!
This proves that the simplest combo works
macapuno + saba + shaved ice.
topped with leche flan and milk = yum!

..it's 2am

Just wrapped up Wedding Sunday, I'll blog more about it in detail soon, but just to keep this post short, let's just say I found myself in panic, LOL! I just sent multiple emails, and browsing non-stop since we got home. As if a lot can be done during midnight, on a weekend pa!

I'm ok now, I saw this image while I was pinning photos in Pinterest, and somehow it helped. Short and simple, but enough to be a reminder.

agree!

Just around the neighborhood

We didn't have any fancy plans last weekend, well except for one, kaso tinamad din kami, so, we declared it …The "Dyan Dyan Lang" Weekend!

These are the perks of living near a satisfactory but fairly unpopular mall – Robinson's Pioneer. There's a supermarket, a sports outlet shop, small department store and a bookstore. I think, that covers most of the things I need or want to see in a mall, minus the effort.

Best part of this mall are the movie theaters, well yeah, it does have its flaws, minsan tumatalon or whatnot, but if you'll be watching something na for sure mahaba pila in other malls, you can bet that there's no one here!

Case in point... Avengers? First day of showing?
MOA – by reservation (which they opened, weeks before pa)
Glorietta – sold out, well available 11pm slot, game ka?
Megamall – box office!
e sa Rob Pioneer -- Effortless! =D

The condo is a also stone's throw away from our fast food favorites just in case you get a midnight craving for the sweet spaghetti of Jollibee or would want a 7-11 shopping spree. Regular restaurants are just around the corner or a short jeep ride away. Love it!

So here's the lazy weekend that was, and just because tamad talaga kami, we even took the tryc to get to that 5 minute walk mall...

Dancin' to 'Marry You'

I never really thought much of Bruno Mars' "Marry You," except when they used it for Glee as the entourage song during a wedding episode. At the time, I thought it was a good choice for the scene, but didn't ever think that it will be an LSS or something that I would want to hear over and over again.

However, seeing these proposal videos recently made me appreciate the song more. Aside from the cute concept that the grooms-to-be thought of, I've also been thinking that they've got such great friends to help them turn their idea into reality.

so here are they are, I love both videos, but I'm more fascinated by the first one.
Enjoy! ",)

You've Got Mail!

Except probably for paper bills, and some items I order on-line, I don't really get postal mails. A couple of years back, LJ sent me a “pigeon hole” warming card for the condo and that was it.

When one of my besties said she'll send something to me, I didn't think much of it. I figured she'll probably ask someone to meet up with me here, or it won't happen at all.

Well surprise! Surprise! It actually went through the postal service. Awww!!

It was a care package for our wedding. I know she really wanted to help me out, since she knows that I can be extremely praning one minute, and totally wala ng pakialam later. In short, walang matatapos!

She covered all the bases with this, as in!

Weekend Bonding with the ‘M’s

Went to the mall to find the Transformers Decal for LJ’s laptop

We took the bus and got off near Glorietta. Sinamantala na ang pagdaan sa Rustan's to get some Snicker's ice cream bar, yum!

Finally found the decal in True Value of all places! “,)

ang tagal na usapan nyan para ma-gitna, sows!

next he wanted to remove the stickers

finally satisfied with overall "look"

Aiming High, Dreaming Big

After months of delaying our property hunting, we finally took James’ invite as a sign that we should get started. For this ‘tripping’ we were scheduled to visit the Pramana in Sta Rosa

the clubhouse

view from the clubhouse's parking space

We were invited to the open house, that will also allow us to watch the Pacquiao vs Bradley fight via satellite, yey! Although Pacquiao didn’t win, it was still a different experience watching the game from home compared to watching it with a group of strangers. They were actually cheering and clapping… FUN!

let's get ready to rrrrrrrumble!!!!

Lazy, Stormy Weekend

Lazy start...

for me at least.

LJ was up and about since 9am.

Decided to have some home cooked lunch rather than going to the mall...

yes that's red rice, haaayz! white rice I miss you

Braved the storm to go to Robinson’s Manila to meet with LJ’s college friends

anyone asked for some rain?

In between snack with LJ while waiting for 8pm

...onion rings overload

The Boys are Back with the Kids!

Such a busy Sunday, we literally had less than an hour to get back to the condo, get dressed, and  go to the Arena. Whew!

the exterior reminds me of Mind Museum, LOL

Buti na lang Filipino time sila!

So we managed to get to the MOA grounds with 10 minutes to spare, walked to the entrance facing the front of the mall. Apparently, it was closed, so we had to walk around the Arena to get to the other entrance.

our discounted tickets! know more about it here

Kaya pala ang initial reaction namin was “bat walang kaguluhan?”

A crowd has already gathered in front of the Coral Entrance. Food and drinks that didn’t come from their concessionaire were not allowed to be brought inside, so some forced themselves to finish their drinks (poor them, brain freeze na)

no lines!

Store Mobbing

LJ and I really, really , really want to see the NKOTBSB concert. Unfortunately for us, the ticket prices were also, really, really, really HIGH! We just had to start accepting reality that this time we need to let it pass.

let me hear some whoop! whoop!!!

Since the rates were published in May, I’ve been checking for on-line deals to get a better rate. True enough, with just a couple of days to go, the universe answered our wish and I saw Groupon-- a group buying site offering it for 50% off!!! Wieeee!

...for the love of Traveling

I've always been known to be a lakwatsera (I got it from my momma, LOL). Ever since I can remember, I've loved exploring new places and just getting out of the hotel for the most part makes me happy. I will try my best to go to different restaurants, and roam around as if I'm from there. I like walking. Getting lost was just part of the thrill.

Shy as I am, I ask questions, from fellow travelers, from forums, and when I'm brave enough, once I'm there, from locals themselves. You just encounter the nicest and most helpful people when you greet them with a smile and show genuine curiosity.

As an effort to give back, I started to write reviews about hotels, shared some tips about my adventures and recently, I've decided to join in forums. Little did I know that it will be appreciated in such a great way, and I received notes of thanks which I will forever treasure.

This is currently making me smile most from ear to ear... =D

This has been included in the Top 10, yey!
