Day 2: Boracay Bound

You are finally in Caticlan, yey for you! Now you just need to get to the front of the Caticlan's Jetty Port
  • If you are coming from Caticlan Airport,
    • you can ride a tryc, as soon as you step out of the airport doors follow the road to your right, just a short walk and you will see the tryc terminal. It’s 50pesos per trip if you rent out the tryc good for 3 people.
    • In one of our previous trips, we still had the energy, so we just decided to walk and made an event out of it. If you do decide that you want to skip the tryc like we did, as soon as you get out of the airport walk to your right, then turn left at the corner. Just keep walking straight. Ask for directions if you feel you are getting lost, but usually there will be some tourists walking with you as well. It’s a good 15 minutes of walking.
  • If you just got off the 2go vessel like us, then just follow the crowd until you get to the front of the building.
The next steps are actually very easy, depending on the time of year. We’ve tried it before during the off-peak season and there’s absolutely no line. Last weekend was still considered a peak season, and it was just waaaaaay too crowded and humid. This is the part where the tag team helped.

Tip: Each window is not a pre-requisite for the other windows, so if you are travelling with a group, just have three of you line up for each window and buy for everyone, the rest can start going inside the air-conditioned waiting area with your bags. The security will not look for the ticket at this point, they will just scan the bags, so at least most of you are already comfortable and you don’t have to lug your bag with you while you wait in line.

You need to line-up for three windows (why it has to be three separate windows, I don’t know)
Window 1 – for the pump boat, 25pesos/pax
Window 2 – Environmental fee, 75pesos/pax
Window 3 – Terminal fee, 100pesos/pax

Tip: The long queues are usually on the set of windows on the left side of the entrance, there’s another set of windows on the right with shorter lines, check if those windows are open.

Once inside the terminal, there’s a long table where you need to write on a form your name, where you are staying and for how long. After writing those details, head over to your right, there will be someone collecting your stub for the environmental fee. Go straight and you will notice a “turnstile,” you need to hand over the card for the terminal so they can swipe it for your (again, I don't know why you can't just do it yourself, trust issues? hmmm). Finally, you’ll be outside, there will be someone directing you to which boat you are going to board.

It will be a short 15minute  boat ride to Cagban port. Once your get off the boat, follow the crowd and you will see a tricycle terminal. Let the driver know to which resort you are headed to. You can rent out the tryc for 100pesos.

Just 10 minutes more and you will be able to feel the silky white sand between your toes!!!
