It’s finally here! Our much awaited
Save the Date illustration. LJ really wanted to have this old school
style comic cover ever since he saw samples in the internet. He said
I can do anything I want with the formal Invite, but he’ll be the
design master for the Save the Dates.
After much delay, LJ sent an
inquiry email to Andrew Villar. He’s the creator of the popular
weekly comic strip seen in Manila Bulletin’s Entertainment Section,
“Ambush.” Fortunately, he was open to our idea, and asked more
questions to better understand the concept of what we would want to
appear in our 'comic cover.'
Here’s the scene set-up that LJ
provided… the advantages of being engaged to a writer, hehe!
Without further adieu, here’s Andrew
Villar’s masterpiece for us…
It looks great, right?! *grin*
We haven’t met him personally, and we didn't even discuss this over the phone. Everything was just done through email. LJ also sent him some pictures of us so that he would be able to incorporate features. The result was just
amazing, AND we got this in a little under a week.
It was a great
surprise that it turned out exactly... No, it turned out far better than what we
wanted! We probably spent the whole Sunday night just staring at it.
I’m so happy that LJ insisted on getting this. It’s definitely unique, and perfectly shows his passion for
comics as well as our love for adventure.
So, lesson to brides, the groom can
surprise you with the most awesome and outrageous idea for the
wedding that will just make you so proud of them. yey!

We also had this made into photo magnets, so we can hand them out to friends. You can read about it here. =)
