The Boys are Back with the Kids!

Such a busy Sunday, we literally had less than an hour to get back to the condo, get dressed, and  go to the Arena. Whew!

the exterior reminds me of Mind Museum, LOL

Buti na lang Filipino time sila!

So we managed to get to the MOA grounds with 10 minutes to spare, walked to the entrance facing the front of the mall. Apparently, it was closed, so we had to walk around the Arena to get to the other entrance.

our discounted tickets! know more about it here

Kaya pala ang initial reaction namin was “bat walang kaguluhan?”

A crowd has already gathered in front of the Coral Entrance. Food and drinks that didn’t come from their concessionaire were not allowed to be brought inside, so some forced themselves to finish their drinks (poor them, brain freeze na)

no lines!

The SM Arena

Getting inside the Arena was quick. No long lines, there was someone in charge of every turnstile to help you scan the QR code in your ticket.

Long line to get some food though, and yes it was pricey. A small tub of Chef Tony’s popcorn, a hotdog sandwich and a large iced tea costs 200pesos.

Since the Arena is new, the staff was still in their nesting phase, so service was slow… really slow.

loooong lines, sloooooow service

The lay out of the seats is actually better than Araneta (at least in my opinion). Even though we were in the upper box, we still had a clear view of the stage.

it doesn't have the wide feel of Araneta, in a good way

We got discounted tickets, and I was expecting the farthest seat, so I guess we got lucky.

The seating space was very tight though. I was uncomfortable to use the cup holder since it hits the leg of the guy next to me.

The Boys are Back

Even though the snack lines were long, and it was already waaaay past 8pm we knew that the concert hasn’t started yet dahil wala pang nakamamatay na tili from the crowd.

Sure enough when the New Kids and Backstreet boys made their entrance it’s like the girls dominated the Arena.

ayan  na sila!!!

...and the crowd goes wild!

They opened the concert with both boy bands performing,

They then took turns; unfortunately, they didn’t do any mash-up or traded songs like we thought would happen.

I’m not really familiar with New Kids (except with those that had solo careers in the late 90's) but I enjoyed watching their fans yell their hearts out.

The Boys did not disappoint us, and it was a more interactive concert than last time. They got some girls to join them on stage.  They ran around a lot, and more than a couple of times -- got off the stage and rocked-on with those seated in the VIP area.

meet the ultimate fan, go! sayaw lang teh!

LJ... trying to be chill... sigaw na kase! ",)

I think this was the prime time to have their joint concert, the New Kids (although older) were still able to dance like how they did it in the 80’s (even break dance!), and the Boys fans (ahem?!) are already older and can appreciate the concert more.

Such a shame that Kevin didn’t show up, we were hoping he’ll surprise us since this the last leg of the concert.

Oh well, maybe we’ll see him when the BSB comes back (right LJ?)
