Wedding Duties: NSO Documents

Amidst the fun and colorful wedding preparations, we simply can’t ignore the boring legal requirements.

One fine afternoon, LJ and I headed over to the Makati City hall to request for copies of our Birth Certificates and Cenomar. Oh! Fun!

If you are not as bibo as us, you can definitely request for this by calling the NSO hotline 737-1111. They offer the convenience of avoiding the long lines and the speed of getting the document delivered to you in 3 to 4 days.

Cost per copy when you call the hotline:
Birth Certificate Php330
CENOMAR            Php430

According to their ads, you can pay through Bayad Centers, Bancnet ATM, Metrobank or on-line with your credit card.

So why did we go to the NSO office when we can have it delivered? The Makati City Hall office was near, and it wasn’t really a hassle. So if you have a couple of hours and you are near an NSO office, it might be be best to just get the copies yourself or ask someone to get it for you.

This basically ended up saving us money since we were getting 4 certificates. True, there’s a line; about ten people were in front of us at most, but it was moving and we just "enjoyed" each other's company to keep from being bored.

We also encountered a problem with the birth certificate, so it was a blessing that we were there. The NSO staff was nice enough to give us tips on what we can do to resolve it and calmed us down (just a tad). We’ll blog more about this once we’ve resolved it “,)

You can read about how we were able to get our NSO Birth Certificate and Cenomar without having it delivered here.

As for us, we are wishing, hoping and praying that our problem gets resolved soon.

Wish us luck!
